...more to come

Riding the Colorado Trail is good for the soul.

My stumps are hurty.

Five solid hours on dirt, with an easy three and a half of those spent climbing.
It's the little things that remind me I'm closer to 50 than I am 25. Once I came to the final creek crossing, I engaged in a hard earned soak.
Cold water on blazing thighs is just what the doctor ordered.
Truth be told, the doctor would probably order that I not do such things to myself again, but after that, a creek soak would probably come in a close second.

Okay, scratch that. Three known dudes with Soulcrafts.

Yes, that's right. I am happy to report that there are three known dudes with Soulcrafts seen round the studio. One checking it out, one taking classes with his girlfriend, and the other one arrived on the mat to attend a class that I taught.

glga recon

we've been putting on a ride called the Good Life Gravel Adventure for a few years now. this year we've pumped it up a bit, got the word out a bit more, and called it Gravel Worlds. figuring if we didn't, someone would. we rode the course over the weekend. expecting 100 or so riders for our 150 mile loop this coming saturday.

Good to meet you Tony Leal!

And at a yoga studio of all places. Ha.

It went a little something like this....walking out after work, and much to my surprise, looked up to a dude in a Soulcraft kit complete with the Soulcraft bike. Comments that follow always seem to be, "Nice Bike". This is the second Soulcraft dude I have come into contact with at the studio. Haven perhaps? Law of Attraction?

Of course there was some jive talking amongst ourselves, back and forth about Soulcraft, and then finally to the connection of the yoga studio. One of the owners is INTO cycling and a friend of Leal's, and naturally Tony rolled up to check the place out.

Awesome. Hit me up if you ever wanna go for a spin Tony! It was great to finally meet another teammate in the South Bay.

Now, onto the sunny afternoon ride for hours and then to top of the evening, a little live George Clinton tonight at the SJ Jazz Fest! I will leave you with this...

With friends like these.

Jordi the super pro and I have been riding bikes together for what at this point is going on fifteen years. He's engaged in every discipline from downhill to road racing and everything in between. Besides being a pretty tremendously skilled bike rider in his own right, he just so happens to be one of the nicest folks you could ever hope to meet.

Having people like him in my realm puts things in perspective for me, and any chance I get to spend an afternoon in the woods or on a meandering road ride in his company, I take it.
Everybody deserves a Jordi in their life.
